Roy Lichtenstein the American Pop Artist and leading figure in the new art movement of the ’60’s has inspired many….
Makeup Artists to Designers have been thrilled and amused by his use of the comic strip to satirize. The hard edges within his artwork have been recreated on skinwork by many talented makeup artists and I wanted to create something a little different and have some fun as Creative Director.
The industry can take itself so seriously with its element of tribal belonging to the slavery of fashion its always important for me to reconnect with why I still love what I do. My initial inspiration was my found fabric seen in the large beret. I brought together a great team which included Milliner Margaret O’ Connor who recently has created work for Lady Gaga amongst others, and she created her pieces for the shoot with great passion.
Using Swarovski Crystals and planting the model within the piece I wanted her to become part of the interaction.
I have included the shots and some behind the scenes images….
